Bought the stainless steel+black version, mainly on the advice of Consumer Reports which rated this pot top. Looks great with our other stainless appliances. I would have to agree with other reviewers that the water-pouring area is a bit small - especially if you are bleary-eyed in the morning. The water-pouring area is only about an inch wide and maybe a couple inches long. Compared to my old Mr. Coffee, which was about 6 inches by 4 inches, at least. One feature that does not seem to be m......This is a nice coffee maker. The only issue I have with it is not so much that you can't see how much water is in the machine, but rather that the area where you pour it is on the small side. So water sometimes gets spilled. Other than that, looks nice, quiet, accurate (put 4 cups of water in, got 4 cups of coffee out). Unless you need really scorching hot coffee, the temperature is good. My coffee has had varying tastes to it, but that is more a result of using left over coffee beans that I've ......I originally purchased this coffeemaker 7 years ago, and it finally zapped out after heavy use. I love the taste of the coffee, the design of the maker, and it's ease of use. The only difference that I noted in my current version is that the 'stainless steel' part is now made of plastic. I used to keep a coffee scoop on the side of the maker that was hooked on a magnet-- and that is no longer a possibility. But, it doesn't seem like flimsy plastic, so at least the quality is still there.......After owning a Krupp for at least a decade it finally developed a leak I was not able to fix. Of course I was in the market for an exact replacement since the life of coffee makers seems to be unacceptably short (2-6 years) according to many reports. Unfortunately, this was not possible with the reviews we saw and a check of the current Krupp models.
This Cuisinart DCC-1200 BCH came as advertised. We particularly like the black chrome finish. I don't think the screen is as fine as the Krupp sc......I originally got this coffee maker as a refurbished one (from the other big seller website) and it still brews like new. We brew 10 cups every morning and also afternoon coffee during the weekends.
I never even used the water filter. We have great tap water and I run a vinegar-water mix through the machine once a year and that's all it has taken...can't get easier than that.
If this one ever quits, I'm getting the same machine again :)......Images Product
