I first used this coffeemaker while on a visit to my sister, who was very pleased with it. The coffee it made was consistently good, so on my return I purchased one. My experience with it was marred by the infamous spillage problem while pouring the coffee. One problem with the DCC-450 - it doesn't make the coffee hot enough. If you drink it black and immediately, it might be hot; but add a little milk or drink with your morning paper and you'll have to re-heat your cup in the microwave. Too bad. Otherwise, I like the design & compactness.......

Looked a little smaller than imagined, but is a good product for our need. The only critique the lid is difficult to open should have a lip. The carafe, the firs item to break is metal and that is wonderful but of course you can't see what's inside. A good product a praise to the maker and to Amazon......
Purchased this coffee maker a few weeks ago and hate it. 1) Very small capacity, barley enough for 2 average sized mugs of coffee. 2) The carafe leaks terrible between the metal and plastic surround. I'm working with Cuisinart now to get a replacement. Not sure how that will work out, so I can't comment on their response. Before I start my review, I wanted to make a few opening statements: A) Anything with an electrical cord attached to it could potentially go bad - it is called the "bathtub curve" - many electronic products fail in the first four years (and most of these fail within the first year), the failures plateau out and stabilize for a number of years, and then all fail over a long enough time stretch. B) I understand that not everyone has been as fortunate as me with this particular Cuisinart coffeemake......
Ok, I've had the DTC-975BKN for 3 weeks now and I love it. I haven't had any problems with it. I do have to say though; I'm extremely careful about making sure the lid to the carafe is screwed on and pointed to pour. I'm also obsessed with making sure the reservoir lid is closed, making sure I hear the click before pressing the "on" button. So far, it makes great coffee & keeps it hot. So far, so good.......
Generally happy with the unit; have used it now for over a month. Good points: 12-cup capacity, brews fast, looks good, thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for some hours and the spout is the best by far of any coffeemaker I've ever had. Downside: Poorly designed snap latch for the grounds basket. If it pops open a bit while brewing, the coffee will overflow. I drink a lot of coffee throughout the day and I love this coffee maker. I recently purchased it to replace my old "no carafe" style coffee maker and I'm glad I did. I was skeptical at first that it would keep the coffee hot for long enough but it really does keep it hot for hours. You just have to make sure that the lid is on properly or it will overflow. I love that the machine is not running constantly to keep the coffee warm making it energy efficient. Highly recommend this coffee maker......

I love the Cuisinart DCC Brew Central. It is very easy to use, has everything built on the inside so you don't have messy hinged pieces. The finished brewing beep can be heard from another room when the coffee is ready and for the first time the carafe pours with out spilling all over the counter top.......

This is a solid coffee maker, brewing coffee according to the strength you want from a few cups to a whole pot. It warms the coffee without cooking it or letting it remain tepid. You can also program it for the exact time you reach for a cup in the morning.......
